Baby Nursery Mood Board

As someone who loves home decor, dreaming about my baby’s nursery has been a fun project! At first, it was a bit overwhelming searching for inspiration online. I was inspired but intimidated by the beautiful nurseries that professional designers share! Knowing that hiring a designer wasn’t something I was prioritizing based on time and budget, I created a new Pinterest board and got to work!

Based on the number of baby products that needed to be included in the nursery, this room was a labor of research mixed with trial and error until we settled on the nursery that worked best for our growing family. Below is the mood board and links to the nursery items I added to the room. Stay tuned for the finished product!

The most important priority for the nursery design was making it gender-neutral because we did not know the gender of our baby. Read more about that here.

I chose to paint the walls a sage green so the nursery would be ready for a boy or a girl. I also wanted to include calming and neutral colors to complement the natural wood floors in the room. After a lot of research and a million questions asked to other parents, I am excited about the nursery I’ve curated and look forward to bringing the baby home.

My Baby Nursery Finds

  1. Skip Hop Clean Changing Pad

Although I’m not sure how often this diaper station will be used throughout the day, because the nursery is on the second floor of our home, I am looking forward to having a designated space for diapers as an option. It was important to me to have a wipeable pad, so I selected one that can easily be cleaned.

  2. Nanit Pro Camera and Wall Mount

I’ve heard that the Nanit baby monitor is like having a guardian angel in the nursery. With its HD camera, real-time notifications, and sleep-tracking features, you can rest easy knowing your baby is sleeping safely. This was a priority for my peace of mind, allowing me to watch my baby from anywhere and know their breathing is being monitored.

  3. DaVinci Jenny Lind 3-in-1 Convertible Crib

I had a vision for a black crib and although when I described it to others, I was met with some surprise, I absolutely love the look in the gender-neutral nursery. The Jenny Lind style is a classic while the black frame adds some drama to the room.

  4. Parker Baby Felt Diaper Organizer

I love that this organizer is a family-owned company but is available in all the major stores. I registered for a few diaper organizers and have them stashed throughout my house to make changing diapers a bit easier.

  5. Woven Floor Basket

While prepping the nursery, it’s been great to have baskets to store blankets and toys. I loved the look of this woven basket at Target.

  6. Carter's by DaVinci Arlo Recliner and Swivel Glider

I did LOTS of research to find the perfect chair. There are so many options at every price point regarding nursery chairs. Based on feedback from other moms, I decided a comfortable recliner was the direction I wanted to go so I would be the most comfortable during late-night feedings. I decided to pick a chair that is not electric due to the number of plugins available in our house (old brick homes don’t offer many plugins). I also didn’t want to potentially have an electrical problem in a few years in the chair. Another priority I had was having a chair with a headrest on either side of the back. Stay tuned; I’ll report back once I put the chair to good use!

Stay tuned for a final reveal and photos from the finished nursery! Once Baby B has arrived and put things to the test, I'll share a nursery update.
